London - Donald Dewar's successor as Scottish Labour leader yesterday admitted there was "disaffection" on the backbenches of the Holyrood parliament. Mr Henry Mc Leish narrowly defeated the Finance Minister, Mr Jack McConnell, on Saturday by 44 votes to 36 to be elected the party's interim leader, despite being the apparently undisputed favourite.
