GRADUATES in graphic design get a bit of a raw deal when, compared to their fine art college mates. While the fine artists get, glamourous shows in galleries, the graphic designers have to make do with anonymously designing everything from letterheads to cardboard boxes but then they do often" make a great deal made money. As part of their on going 250 year celebrations, NCAD opened a show of the work of its top graduates including Wendy Williams, Kevin O'Boyle, Carol Coffey and Aidan Kenny at the Guinness Hopstore this week. Illustrator Brian Cronin's work was ere, including some of his smart, overs for Time magazine but pressure of work meant the man himself had to return to his New York home before the show opened He had been in town scouting round to buy a Dublin base.

Half's this year's graduates have already found work including Leonard O'Grady who has landed a job "the Marvel Comics people who every week send over the comics including Superman and Batman to a company in Palmerstown in Dublin have the drawing coloured in by a team of colourists.

When they're finished they ship them back to the US for printing. It's like a huge colouring book says Leonard cheerfully.
