Legislation under discussion today
The Tax Transparency Bill sponsored by Fine Gael backbencher Eoghan Murphy. It would ensure everyone paying income tax would get an annual statement containing a breakdown of the areas of government spending on which their taxes are to be spent.
Committees sitting
Minister for Health James Reilly is due to appear before the health committee to discuss the Health and Social Care Professionals (Amendment) Bill, 2012. The finance committee will hear pre-budget submissions from civil society groups.
In the coming weeks
The Education and Training Boards Bill, 2012, is scheduled to go before the select sub-committee on education and skills.
