Legislation under discussion today

The new children’s hospital. Minister for Health James Reilly is expected to hold a 20-minute question-and-answer session on the Dolphin report. This is due to follow set speeches by Dr Reilly and Opposition health spokespeople.


Committees sitting

Minister for Finance Michael Noonan will this morning give a pre-Ecofin briefing to the finance committee, while various civil society groups will present pre-budget submissions to the committee in the afternoon. The preservation of historic buildings on Dublin’s Moore Street will be discussed at the environment committee.

Dealing with youth unemployment in recession will be the topic of an address to Senators by Nobel Prize winner Christopher Pissarides.
