Triple Olympic champion Inge de Bruijn raced to her third title of the world swimming championships with a clearcut victory in the 50 metres freestyle final today.

The 27-year-old Dutchwoman, who won the 100m freestyle on Wednesday and 50m butterfly on Thursday, swept home in 24.47 seconds to win by nearly half a second.

Sweden's Therese Alshammar had to settle for her second silver of the championships behind De Bruijn in 24.88. She also finished second in Thursday's 50m butterfly.

Voelker, 100m freestyle bronze medallist, collected another bronze in 24.96, just 0.04 seconds ahead of Britain's Alison Sheppard.
