GAA: On a day when the Bank of Ireland signed a five-year deal to become official sponsor of the Dublin City University (DCU) GAA Academy, bold plans for an indoor stadium at the campus were also announced.

The initial stages of planning for the proposed 10,000-seater stadium have been submitted to Fingal County Council. Should the venture go ahead within the next two years it is hoped to be completed by 2013.

Former GAA President Peter Quinn, brother to businessman Seán, made the announcement at today's Bank of Ireland sponsorship launch.

"We hope to have it finished within five years but a lot will depend on the planners and our ability to raise the funds," said Quinn.
