London - No evidence supported the theory that TV presenter Jill Dando was killed by a professional gunman or a Serbian hitman, an Old Bailey jury was told today.
"Your instinct and common sense will tell you there was nothing about this shooting that involved professionalism," said Mr Orlando Pownall, prosecuting, in his closing speech. "There is no evidence that the gunman was a Kosovan or Serbian. Why would such a person want to kill Jill Dando?"
