Gardai in Sligo said their investigation into the death of a Sligo man who fell down a 50foot sheer valley face at the weekend has shown no indication that a crime was committed. Mr Karl Higgins (23), of Breeogue, Strandhill, Co Sligo, fell down the Glenn Valley, close by Strandhill, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

It is understood Mr Higgins and a number of his friends were in the vicinity with the intention of attending an open-air rave disco. Two of Mr Higgins's friends were also seriously injured in the incident. Gardai have appealed for information as most of the rave-goers fled the scene after seeing the injured parties. A postmortem on Mr Higgins is expected to be held today.
