Woman arrested after man found dead in Dublin home

Father finds son dead at a house in Rathfarnham

A woman in her 40s has been arrested in connection to the death of a man in south Dublin yesterday.

The 42-year-old man’s body remains at the scene in a home in south Dublin today (Friday) as gardaí continue to investigate the ‘suspicious’ death.

It is understood the man's father found him at the foot of the stairs at an address in Marley Court South, Rathfarnham about 5pm yesterday.

A local doctor and emergency services were called to the address.

It is believed the man suffered stab wounds to his back.

Gardaí from Dundrum have launched an investigation into the death, which is being treated as suspicious.

The deputy State pathologist carried out a preliminary examination at the scene last night.

A postmortem is due to be finished later today.

The scene has been preserved for forensic examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.

The woman, who was arrested today, is being kept in custody at Blackrock Garda Station.
