Three men in court charged with murder of Thomas ‘Toddy’ Dooley

Men remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Friday

Three men have appeared in court charged with the murder of Thomas ‘Toddy’ Dooley in Co Offaly last February.

Mr Dooley (64) was found dead in his home at Sister Senan Court in Edenderry on February 16th.

A post mortem revealed the father-of-three had suffered injuries to his upper body and head.

A sitting of Tullamore District Court heard James Davy (23), with an address at Thornhill Meadows, Celbridge and Sean Davy (20) of Clonmullen Drive, Edenderry made no reply when charged with Mr Dooley’s murder. Detective Garda Joe Hughes said Matthew Cummins (20) of Churchview Heights in Edenderry replied, “I never touched him”, when charged with the offence.

The three men are each charged with the murder of Mr Dooley on a date between February 11th and February 16th this year.

Garda Inspector Kieran Keyes successfully applied to have all three men remanded in custody to Cloverhill Prison.

They were remanded in custody by Judge Catherine Staines to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Friday.
