Teenager shot in the leg at house in Newbridge

A teenager is recovering in hospital after being shot in the leg at a house in Co Kildare early on New Year’s Day.

The man, who is in his late teens, received a shot gun wound to the leg at a house in the Piercetown area of Newbridge, Co Kildare shortly before 5am on Friday.

He is being treated in Naas General Hospital where his condition is described as non-life threatening.

Gardaí has asked for witnesses to the incident to contact them. The gunman is described as being around 180cms tall, wearing a dark tracksuit and spoke with a Dublin accent.
