Teenager arrested following discovery of suspect device

A teenager has been arrested in Dublin following the discovery of a suspicious device during a search of a property by gardaí.

Gardaí evacuated a number of surrounding properties after finding the suspect object during the search operation.

The army’s explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) service attended the scene at Corduff Gardens in west Dublin at about 7.20pm on Friday.

A 15-year-old male was arrested at the scene and brought to Blanchardstown Garda station.

The properties were declared safe shortly before 9.30pm and residents were allowed to return.
