Ombudsman investigates death of man in custody

A man has died in Garda custody in Buncrana, Co Donegal.

It is not clear yet how the man died or why he was in custody.

A full investigation is expected to be carried out by the Garda Ombudsman.

The man is believed to have been found dead by an officer at Buncrana Garda station who checked on him in the early hours of this morning .

A postmortem will be carried out this afternoon.
