Man (58) in hospital after assault in Dublin

Injured man discovered lying outside Coombe hospital around midnight

A 58-year-old man is recovering in hospital after an assault in the south inner city last night.

The injured man was discovered lying on Cork Street outside the Coombe hospital shortly after midnight by a member of the Dublin Fire Brigade.

He was taken to St James’s Hospital where his condition is said to be stable.

A Garda spokesman said they believe the man was assaulted in the Robert Emmet Walk area between 11pm and 11.30pm.
