Gardaí renew appeal for information on Raonaid Murray

Appeal comes on 16th anniversary of murder of Dublin girl in Dún Laoghaire

Gardaí have renewed an appeal for information on the murder of Raonaid Murray on the 16th anniversary of her murder.

Ms Murray’s body was found at 12.33am, on Saturday, September 4th, less than 500m from her home in Glenageary, Co Dublin.

The 17-year-old had been socialising with a friend in Scott’s pub in Dún Laoghaire. She made arrangements to go to a night club later and left the pub at about 11.20pm to go home and change.

Her body was later found at Silchester Crescent.

Det Supt Kevin Dolan, speaking at Dún Laoghaire Garda station, said: “Anybody with any information which could assist in identifying a motive for the murder of Raonaid and/or if any person has any doubts about the veracity of an alibi provided, we would appeal for your immediate assistance.

“You may be unknowingly shielding a killer.”
