No injuries reported after shots fired in targeted attack in Finglas

Gardaí are investigating a shooting incident in a north Dublin shopping centre car park Friday evening.

The incident took place in the car park of the Charlestown Shopping Centre in Finglas at 6.15pm near a pair of fast food restaurants.

A number of shots were reportedly fired in a targeted attack.

The area of the carpark next to McDonalds and KFC fast food restaurants was closed off for forensic examination.

It is understood there were numerous members of the public in the vicinity, including children.

Gardaí believe no one was injured during the shooting and they are appealing for witnesses.

“Anyone who was in and around the Charlestown Shopping Centre in Finglas or the car park of the food outlets, this evening and who may have seen anything unusual is asked to contact Finglas Garda Station on 01-6667500, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station,” the Garda said in a statement.
