Body of woman found in house in Co Mayo

The body of a woman in her late 20s has been found in a house near Mayo Abbey, Castlebar, Co Mayo.

The discovery was made at midday today.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the body remains at the scene, a house in a rural area.

The Office of the State Pathologist has been notified and Dr. Michael Curtis is scheduled to attend.

Gardaí in Castlebar are investigating.
