Cork theatre director to step down

The artistic director of Cork's Everyman Palace Threatre is to step down, it was announced today.

The artistic director of Cork's Everyman Palace Threatre is to step down, it was announced today.

Pat Talbot is to leave at the beginning of February next year to set up a new independent production company.

Mr Talbot said his time at the Everyman Palace had been "extraordinarily busy, stimulating and hugely satisfying".

"I want to thank all the theatre artists, companies, managements and funding bodies who have contributed to the theatre's progress in the last six years," he added. "I also want to salute the work of the theatre staff and thank the board for its support."

Chairman Michael White said through Mr Talbot's vision, dedication and hard work the theatre was now established both nationally and internationally.
