The Continuity IRA has admitted it planted a firebomb device defused by British army bomb experts outside a supermarket in Dungannon last night.

The device, described as "crude but effective", was found inside a refuse bin in a car park.

A Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesman said it had been a serious danger both to the security forces and also to members of the public.
