Galway gets tooled up for a dance trip next weekend, in the company of Goldie, David Holmes, The Freestylers, Bass Odyssey, The SugarHill Gang and Grand Master Melle Mel. While the Bud Thud tips heavily towards the drum 'n' bass side, there's enough variety in the line-up to satisfy lovers of all different styles. The weekend kicks off on Friday with the original Metalhead, Goldie (right), at the GPO club. Belfast DJ David Holmes is in the same venue on Saturday, fresh from his successful soundtrack to the Hollywood movie, Out Of Sight.

Meanwhile, DJ Talvin Singh brings some Asian dub to Church Lane, under the banner of his popular Anohka club night, and the Black Box returns to the old skool in the company of original hip-hoppers The SugarHill Gang, making their first Irish appearance.
