NICOSIA - President Glafcos Clerides of Cyprus has announced he would run for a second term in office in presidential elections due in February 1998. Mr Clerides (78) said he had a "historical obligation and political responsibility" to seek a second term. The veteran conservative, founder of the right-wing Democratic Rally party, was elected president for a five-year term in 1993. - (Reuters)
