The Mid-Western Health Board has set up a special committee to investigate allegations that a male nurse has fathered a child by a 27-year-old psychiatric patient in Limerick with whom he has had a relationship for some time.
The committee is also looking into further allegations that other vulnerable female patients may have had relationships with the same staff member.
