Admission prices have been dropped for today as the Irish Film Centre in Dublin celebrates its seventh anniversary with a day of free movies - most of which are linked by the theme of seven. At 11 a.m. there's a choice between Akira Kurosawa's great The Seven Samurai and Steven Spielberg's exuberant Raiders of the Lost Ark. The delightful musical, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, is showing at 2 p.m. and the Irish Film Archive presents the 1975 documentary, To Be 7 in Belfast, photographed by Chris Menges, at 2.30 p.m.

Showing at 4 p.m. are Billy Wilder's The Seven Year Itch featuring Marilyn Monroe (right) and Henry King's Seventh Heaven with Simone Simon and James Stewart. At 6 p.m., there's a sneak preview of a hot new movie which remains a secret until the credits roll, and a screening of Agnes Varda's Cleo From 5 to 7. Completing the eclectic programme at 8.30 p.m. are screenings of Ingmar Bergman's marvellous The Seventh Seal and, inevitably, David Fincher's riveting Seven.
