The Wicklow County Council chairman is unable to obtain documentation from his own council offices in relation to a planning dispute in the Blessington area, the High. Court heard yesterday.

Miss Justice Laffoy gave Mr Thomas Cullen, of Deerpark, Blessington, leave to seek, by way of judicial review, a number of orders against the council.

He wants a declaration that he is entitled to information that may be in the council files relating to Roadstone lands in the Blessington area.

Mr John Rogers SC, for Mr Cullen, said certain lands in the Blessington area were the subject of High Court litigation. Wicklow County Council, Roadstone and Blessington Heritage Trust were involved.

Mr Cullen said there was local opposition to some aspects of the Development Plan. A council meeting was planned for March 4th at which the Draft Plan was to be adopted.

Mr Cullen had sought access to the files in relation to the lands and was refused. It was stated that they must be regarded as sub judice.

Miss Justice Laffoy gave permission to Mr Cullen to apply later, if necessary, for an order prohibiting the council meeting on March 4th.
