CATHOLICS at Omagh's Sacred Heart Church have raised £1,500 to help repair a Methodist church targeted by rioters during disturbances which followed the Drumcree disturbances.

The Methodist minister, the Rev Peter Good, said the donation was the sign of a desire to heal local divisions and restore relationships between the communities.

He said the gesture was greatly welcomed. "It demonstrated that the trouble is caused by a small minority and that where a church is damaged people will react not just with a condemnation but in a positive and practical way too."
