An action by a man who claimed he suffered severe burns to his body after he fell asleep beside a heater in a rented holiday cottage and awoke to find himself in flames, has been settled at the High Court. Mr Sean Connolly (28), Gortlandroe, Nenagh, Co Tipperary had sued Rent-an-Irish-Cottage Ltd after alleging his jumper caught fire as he slept next to an oil-fired heater in one of the company's cottages at Puckane, Co Tipperary, on January 1st, 1994, following a New Year's Eve party. The company denied all liability.

Details of the settlement were not disclosed.
