London - The Mail on Sunday failed in its High Court attempt to overturn a legal ban on it publishing details about nanny Ms Ros Mark's life with the British Prime Minister's family.

A judge continued an injunction obtained in the early hours of last Sunday against the paper by Mr Tony Blair's wife, Cherie. Just hours before the hearing, it was announced that Mrs Blair had dropped her claim for damages against Miss Mark over the publication of details of the Blairs' life in Downing Street.

In a joint statement issued by Mrs Blair and Ms Mark, Mrs Blair accepted that Ms Mark did not send a 450-page account of her life with the Blairs to the Mail on Sunday.
