Jenson Button was forced to quit testing early today after a high-speed accident at Jerez.

He lost control in turn four and smashed heavily into the wall, causing extensive damage to the left side of his BAR car.

The car cannot be repaired today and Button, who did not need medical attention but suffered bruised knees, will return home from Spain to rest, with BAR test driver Takuma Sato set to fill in tomorrow.

Today's crash is the second serious accident for Button this season after he was forced to miss the Monaco Grand Prix following a high-speed impact with a tyre wall.
