A new private enterprise visitor centre on the edge of the Burren in Co Clare opens to the public on Friday. Burren eXposure, in Ballyvaughan, was initiated by a local dentist and businessman, Mr Leonard Culligan, who told The Irish Times that "amidst the continuing controversy of interpretative centres, Burren eXposure is an innovative solution welcomed by the local people".
Local experts put the project together. Architect Mr John O'Reilly combined the technology and design features with traditional craftsmanship and natural historian, Mr Gordon D'Arcy, led the research on conveying the natural history of the Burren.
