A father-of-one charged over a burglary at Minister for Justice Alan Shatter’s home is to be sent forward for trial, a judge was told yesterday.

Darragh Heavey (25), is charged with trespassing at the Minister’s house, at Delbrook Manor, Ballinteer, Co Dublin, with intent to commit theft of two watches of unknown value belonging to Mr Shatter on March 18th last.

No one was home at the time of the incident, alleged to have occurred when Mr Shatter was representing the Government for St Patrick’s Day in Australia.

Judge Clare Leonard in Dún Laoghaire District Court adjourned the case in Mr Heavey’s absence and ordered that it resume at Cloverhill District Court on May 29th, when the book of evidence is to be served.
