LOS ANGELES - Actor Brian Keith, who co starred in the 1961 Disney movie The Parent Trap and was well known for the TV comedy Family Affair, shot and killed himself on Tuesday, a sheriffs spokesman said. Sgt Noel Lanier said Mr Keith (75) was found dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound in his home in the movie star colony of Malibu, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The officer said homicide detectives who went to the house had classified the death as a suicide. Local KCAL television cited a source as saying the actor had been suffering from cancer and emphysema. In recent years he had been doing voice over work on TV commercials. Paul Doherty, who worked with Mr Keith at a talent agency specialising in this work, said the actor had not been well recently.
