Bradford chairman resigns after poor run

First Division strugglers Bradford have been rocked by the resignation of chairman Gordon Gibb.

First Division strugglers Bradford have been rocked by the resignation of chairman Gordon Gibb.

The Bantams, who visit league leaders Norwich tomorrow, are one place off the bottom of the division despite the appointment of former Middlesbrough boss Bryan Robson as manager last November.

The 1-0 win over Coventry on December 28 ended a run of five consecutive league defeats but was followed by a home loss to Second Division Luton in the FA Cup third round last Saturday.

Gibb told the club's official website, www.bradfordcityfc.co.uk: "It is with sadness that I have to inform everybody connected with Bradford City that as of 2pm on Friday, January 9 2004, I and my fellow director Andrew Richardson have resigned our respective positions on the football club board."
