A nine-year-old boy was killed and another boy injured last night when they were hit by a car while skateboarding in Co Cork.
The incident happened near the Catholic Walk area of Kinsale at about 5 p.m.
The boys were taken to Cork University Hospital where the six-year-old was being treated for head injuries. His condition is described as "stable".
The driver of the car was taken to hospital suffering from shock.

Elsewhere, a girl (17) was killed in Co Meath when the car she was travelling in crashed near Kilmore at about 11 p.m.
The names of the dead have not been released.
