A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy who escaped serious injury after he fell 20ft from a window at a residential centre for the homeless in Cork, was in a stable condition in hospital yesterday.

The child, who has not been named, was treated for minor injuries including bruising and cuts to the forehead at Cork University Hospital.

A spokesman for the HSE South said the child was “in a comfortable condition” but was being kept in hospital as a precautionary measure.

The boy had gone sleep in a bunk bed at Edel House in Grattan Street in Cork on Saturday night. When his mother entered the room at 9.30am on Sunday morning she saw him fall out the window of the room on to an embankment. Fortunately, he avoided hitting the concrete path nearby which saved him from serious injury or even death.
