A 15-year-old boy was drowned in Schull, Co Cork last night, a Garda spokesman said this morning.
It is believed the boy fell into the water while boarding a trawler yesterday afternoon but he was not noticed missing for several hours afterwards. His body was recovered at about 8.30 last night.
The boy has not yet been named, but is understood to be from the locality. A post mortem is due to be be carried out later today.
