Hundreds of people have queued at Galway's City Hall over the last few days to sign a book of condolence for the Omagh bomb victims. The book was opened by Mr Padraig McCormack TD, of Fine Gael, who is deputising for the Mayor of Galway, Cllr Angela Lynch-Lupton, while she is abroad.

Last night the Bishop of Galway, Dr James McLoughlin, was chief celebrant at a special Concelebrated Mass in the Cathedral of the Assumption and St Nicholas for the Omagh bomb victims. An ecumenical service is also due to be held in Galway city this weekend as a mark of respect to the bereaved.
