Bohemians manager Pete Mahon today told ireland.comhe hopes to have sealed the signing of up to two new strikers by next week.

"I'm looking at two strikers at the moment" he said, "but I've been totally frustrated in several previous attempts to sign players this season so I don't want to pre-empt anything by revealing their names. All I'll say is that one of them is currently playing in Ireland and the other in England."

It is well known that Mahon has been searching for a new partner for the prolific Glen Crowe for some time now.

Though Trevor Molloy has been playing well lately, he has not found the net with any great frequency this season and his position in Mahon's long-term plans is uncertain.

Mahon has already released one striker, Alex Nesovic, this season and seems unlikely to hold on to Trevor Fitzpatrick whose month-long loan at Dalymount Park expires next week.

Some press reports have suggested that Brentford's Galway-born winger Tony Folan is on the verge of joining the Irish champions, but Mahon today claimed those reports had been exaggerated:

"Basically I was asked if I'd be interested in Tony Folan if he became available, and I of course said 'yes', because we're always interested in good players."

Bohemians take on Galway United at Dalymount Park tomorrow night and will be boosted by the return from suspension of Stephen Caffrey, as well as Avery John's recovery from the injury that forced him to miss Tuesday night's 6-2 win over Home Farm in the League Cup.
