The man was sailing with his 19-year-old son when he was washed overboard from a yacht off last night.

The teenager was taken aboard Ballyglass lifeboat after the alarm was raised around 7 p.m. that the two person crew of a 30 foot yacht were in trouble off Erris Head.

The body was discovered close to where the yacht is drifting. It has been taken ashore where family members are expected to make a formal identification this afternoon.
