Police searching for a missing librarian have confirmed that they have recovered a body at Sion Mills in Co Tyrone.
The body was found buried in a field close to a stream and the area has been cordoned off for forensic examination. It has been removed to Forester Green Hospital in Belfast for a post-mortem examination tomorrow.
The remains have not yet been formally identified, but there is speculation that it could be the body of mother of five Mrs Attracta Harron, a 65-year-old retired librarian who has been missing since December 11th.
Police said they could not confirm whether the body, which was uncovered by dogs from a specialist search unit from the South Yorkshire Police Constabulary, was that of a man or woman.
Mrs Harron was last seen alive walking to her Strabane home after attending morning Mass in Murlog, Lifford, Co Donegal.
Mr Trevor William Hamilton, a 21-year-old unemployed student from Sion Mills, appeared before a special sitting of Omagh Magistrates' Court on March 28th charged with her murder.
