London - British Prime Minister Mr Tony Blair said yesterday he was committing himself to protecting jobs threatened by BMW's decision to dispose of its troubled Rover unit in Britain.
His statement came on the eve of takeover talks between the German carmaker and the British consortium Phoenix, which wants to buy Rover.
