Manchester United confirmed this afternoon they have agreed a price with Blackburn Rovers for the transfer of Andy Cole, meaning that if the striker agrees personal terms he will be on his way to Ewood Park.

The 30 year-old has scored four goals in 12 Premiership appearances for United this season, but has openly expressed his frustration at his role of back-up for Ruud van Nistelrooy. He is reportedly eager to leave Old Trafford, where he has spent seven successful seasons, in order to push for place in England’s squad for next summer’s World Cup.
