Kigali - A Roman Catholic bishop accused of genocide goes on trial in Rwanda today in a case seen as an indictment of the church's moral failure during the country's 1994 mass killings.

Bishop Augustin Misago, 56, stands accused of refusing shelter to Tutsis, of sending some 30 schoolchildren to their deaths, and crucially, of participating in high level meetings that organised the killings.
