Bid of €412m for former Irish Glass site

A bid of almost €412 million has been made for the former Irish Glass plant at Ringsend in Dublin.

A bid of almost €412 million has been made for the former Irish Glass plant at Ringsend in Dublin.

The tender, submitted to South Wharf and Dublin Port Company, was announced to the Irish stock exchange this morning. The tender process closed last week.

In a statement South Wharf said the tenderer would now be asked provide firm confirmation as to its ability to satisfy its financial obligations.

If completed Dublin Port will receive 33.6 per cent of the tender price and South Wharf shareholders holding ordinary shares will receive 66.4 per cent.

South Wharf occupies the 25-acre site under leases. The site was re-zoned to permit commercial, residential and retail use.
