Quidnunc had hoped to bring readers a special recipe. Filet Mignon Drumcondra was first spotted on a menu at the Metropolitan Club, New York City, on November 8th. The guest of honour of President Michael J. Roarty at the 39th Annual Dinner of the Ireland-US Council was one Bertie Ahern TD. However, sources in New York say Filet Mignon Drumcondra is not a new exotic sauce but merely an invented name for a cut of fillet beef. It was accompanied by Celtic Perigourdine sauce and apparently was very nice indeed.
