American Football:Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry has suffered life-threatening injuries after he "came out" of the back of a pickup truck during a domestic dispute, according to police.

Officers were called to Oakdale Road in Charlotte, North Carolina just before noon yesterday and found Henry in the road.

Paramedics transported Henry to Carolinas Medical Center, where he is being treated.

The Charlotte Observer reports police as saying Henry was involved in a “domestic situation” with his fiancée at Peachtree Road.

His fiancee, who has not been named, got into a pickup truck and drove away from the home. As she was driving, police say, Henry jumped into the bed of the truck.

The domestic dispute continued and, at some point, Henry “came out” of the back of the vehicle.

Henry is in his fifth season with the Bengals and is known for his speed and athletic ability, but also for his troubles off the field.

He has had frequent discipline issues, including 14 games worth of suspensions for violating league policy and five arrests during his career.

He has been on injured reserve since dislocating his forearm on November 8th.
