Two Belfast men, who were allegedly arrested after an armed robbery, were refused bail in the High Court in Belfast yesterday. Mr Justice Coghlin heard that Mr Alistair Cousins and Mr Lee Williams were arrested on December 16th after the supervisor of the Hope Street car park office was held at gunpoint and forced to hand over almost £7,000.

A Crown lawyer said police believed both men were involved with the UFF, but it was thought the robbery was not carried out on behalf of that organisation.

The two men are charged with armed robbery and possession of an imitation firearm.
