A man has been charged with stabbing his nephew to death in north Belfast earlier this week.

Samuel Morrison (42), from Duncairn Gardens, north Belfast, was charged at Belfast Magistrates Court with murdering George Morrison (29), whose body was found at Allworthy Avenue, off the Cliftonville Road, last Monday.

A detective inspector told the court that he could connect the accused with the charge.

The inspector agreed with defence solicitor Brian Archer that while his client had accepted responsibility for the death of Mr Morrison, he had made the case that it was in self-defence.
