No BBC executives are to face the sack over the controversy surrounding the Hutton inquiry, the corporation said today.
In a press statement, the BBC said decisions had now been reached in the disciplinary process initiated following the resignations of the chairman Mr Gavyn Davies and director general Mr Greg Dyke over the Hutton Report.
While it said decisions relating to individuals would remain confidential, it confirmed no dismissals were involved.
However it criticised the BBC Radio 4 Todayprogramme journalist Mr Andrew Gilligan, who also quit in the wake of the Hutton report and whose reporting on the British government's Iraqi weapons dossier was at the heart of the inquiry.
It said he had failed to follow the "core script" that had been cleared in line with the programme's normal production practices. "We consider that the BBC 's evidence to the Hutton Inquiry could have been clearer in this respect," the statement said.
