Celebrations this month to mark the centenary of ballet dancer, choreographer and teacher Joan Denise Moriarty will include a performance of The Sleeping Beauty.

Directed by Cork City Ballet’s artistic director Alan Foley, it will be produced by Yuri Demakov, who trained at the Bolshoi Ballet School in Moscow.

The production, which runs at Cork Opera House from November 22nd-24th, with a further performance at Wexford Opera House on November 25th, will see the role of Princess Aurora danced by Monica Fotescu-Uta, while the male lead is being danced by Sergio Torrado, who was in the movie Black Swan.
