Paris - Comic book heroes Asterix and Obelix, seen as potential saviours of the struggling French cinema industry, failed to work their magic yesterday as critics savaged the duo's first outing into film.
Asterix and Obelix Against Caesar is the most expensive French-language film ever made. Critics said too much attention had been paid to the special effects and not enough to the script.
